A Laowai in China
First, what is a laowai?
A laowai or 老外 in Mandarin Chinese is the word used to describe a foreigner by the Chinese people. That is not an exact translation, it can also mean an alien or just used to describe anyone that is not Chinese. So what is a foreigner or laowai doing in China. Well this particular foreigner has been teaching English in various cities around the country since 2010. I first came to China in 2007, stayed for one year and returned to the UK. A little over 18 months later I returned and apart from a few short trips outside of China I have been here ever since.
As well as teaching I also write product reviews such as the reviews you can find on this website. On top of all that I also find some time to do some affiliate marketing.
